We are so excited to welcome Matt Goodin to the North Ridge Construction team as our new construction manager. Matt will oversee, manage, and direct all of our construction projects from beginning to end. Matt brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team and has already proven to be a tremendous addition. With his 20 years of construction experience and success with his own company, we can’t wait to see what Matt will accomplish with North Ridge.
Get to know Matt a little more…
Where are you from?
“I was born in Indianapolis and have lived here my entire life. I grew up on the Northeast side and currently live in Zionsville.”
What are your hobbies?
“My hobbies include woodworking and playing golf, although I don’t do much of either these days with a 3y/o running around!”
How long have you been in the construction industry?
“I have been in the construction industry, in one form or the other, for about 20 years. I went to IUPUI for Construction Management and started my first framing job while I was in school.”
Tell me about your past jobs and / or experiences.
“I started my first framing job while I was in college and after a few odd jobs and not really knowing what I wanted to do as a career, ended up in the mortgage industry for about a decade. I primarily worked with production builders and was around new construction that entire time, which led me to realize I still loved the building industry. At the beginning of Covid, I was laid off from my job and not really sure what I wanted to do next, I always had a passion for woodworking and had done that for friends/family, so I decided to start my own custom woodworking business. I had been doing that for the past 2.5yrs, when the opportunity came along with Northridge, which seemed like a perfect fit and now here we are.”
What attracted you to North Ridge?
“I was introduced to Northridge initially through some friends and family who had built with them and shared their experiences and seemed like they had a lot of the qualities of a company I would want to work with. After speaking to Sam and Alyssa more about Northridge, I felt I finally found a group of people who felt the same way I did about quality and what building a home should look like.”
What do you enjoy most about your new role?
“I really enjoy working with different families to build them their dream homes. Being able to guide them through the homebuilding process and see the finished result is very rewarding. I also enjoy the different aspects of my role and no two days are the same, I still get to be out in the field working with my hands and at the end of the project, I can look back and confidently say “ I helped build that."
